  • Description: The original solenoids in multiple displacement systems (MDS) on certain Chrysler engines fail when their plastic housings become brittle from underhood heat and the oil passages become clogged by sludge. That failure causes a loss of power, rough idle and decreased fuel economy. Troubleshooting the symptoms of a failing MDS requires inspection of all four of the engine's MDS solenoids, whose fragile housings often break during removal from the engine. This OE FIX MDS solenoid features a more durable aluminum housing and premium compression-tested O-rings to restore the system pressure required to deactivate the cylinder during MDS operation.
